Microscopic mechanism study of the creep properties of soil based on the energy scale method

The study of the creep properties soils is great importance for management future settlements and safe use buildings. However, starting from micro level an effective way to explore mechanism soft soil. In this paper, influence mineral composition content on structure soil was analyzed at microscopic energy scale method proposed. Then, used analyze discuss results direct shear test. discussion showed that 1) average viscosity coefficient kaolin greater than bentonite, which decreased with increase bentonite; 2) thickness adsorbed water or double electric layer (DEL) particle surface positively correlated creep; 3) λ negatively characterized adsorption capacity particles level; hence, can explain also quantitatively describe influencing law basic characteristics creep.
